Board-play Card-play Dice-play
While BreakScore® rules apply to Champ-Play there are extra game play elements to look out for and remember. For example pairs, three pairs and passing. To do well in Champ-Play it's vital that you avoid mistakes and oversights, not least because there can be consequences and penalties to pay! Board-play Don't sit one square in front of a miss-a-turn square or a void. If another player passes you and then remembers to send you back, you'll be in trouble! When you pass other players you can send them back one square if you remember, and it suits you to send them back. However think before you decide to send them back. For example, when a player you pass is on a miss-a-turn square or a void, leave them there! When playing with one other player, don't sit on 40 points to be first on the board. It's better to roll on then to sit, because if you are passed you could end up back in the start. NB: When playing with say two other players, don't sit on 40 or 45 points to be first on the board. It's better to roll on because if you are passed by both players you could also end up back in the start. When you are playing the alternative game ending Target, check the margin between you and other players before going all out for square 1100. Card-play When you get the zouch card "Use it or lose it" select an unused happy faced boomer card as your first choice. Not only do you gain the advantage of the card's content, it's worth 25 points at the end of the game. When you get the zouch card "Miss-a-turn." weigh up the risk of being caught out, if you ignore it. If you think your opponents are distracted then take the risk, play your next turn and see if you can get away with it. Equally from time to time fake 'distraction' and offer the dice to a player who is supposed to miss their turn, catching them out is great fun too! Dice-play Look out for pairs, runs and three pairs. Often they are missed. Always consider your position on the game board when deciding on
you your dice scoring options Alot may depend on how you group your dice. For example, you
roll if in one roll,
Ties are rare but they happen. If you are in a tie don't rush your roll. You only have one shot so make it your best. Take your time and visualise a high BreakScore®. When you are on "strike one!" be careful not to repeat! |
