The choices you make in this game can be crucial in getting ahead of other players. E.g if you are on square 20 and you roll one and six you could score the six first and then the one to land on square 27 and then spring-up to square 34, or you could score the one first, go back two squares and then score the six and go to square 25 and have an extra turn ..... choices, choices, choices! Every square counts! Always check where you will land on the board before you decide on the best order to score the dice you roll. E.g. on square 62 you roll five and six. If you move the six then the five you land on square 73, but if you move the five first you land the square 67 arrow, go back six squares and spring-up to square 68, then move the six to square 74! The closer you get to square 115 the less chance you have of rolling the exact number you need to win. For example if you are on square 113 there are three posibilities of getting two points with two dice, but if you are on square 108 there are six different posibilities of getting seven points with two dice. So you can either play safe and sit on a square as near to 115 as possible or take the risk that no one will win on their turn, and sit on a square that's further away. However if someone else wins before your next turn, the point margin would be five points greater then it would have been had you sat on 113 ..... decisions, decisions, decisions! |
